The conclusion of Destiny's Invasion Part 2 marks the end of a cycle of related stories that began almost 9 years ago. At the time I had something like 75 to 80% of the narrative swirling through my head, begging to get out. To this day, a major chunk remains untold, much of which will become the upcoming Crucible of Time cycle, which will begin sometime later this year after I go back and make some improvements to older stories.
As far as this story, much of it was made on the fly, coming up with ways for each team member to engage in battle. There wasn't a great deal of narrative complexity to work out, and I didn't make any changes to the original concept for the story. Perhaps the hardest task was designing the laboratory where the time machine was (page 24), but the reasons for that design (and why we have dead Sk'lan on the floor) won't be made clear until Crucible of Time.
And so, until that series...farewell.
